I'm so bad at keeping up with things, evidence by the lack of posts that I'm actually putting up on this blog. Still I will try my best. Here's a poem from a while back I wrote since i said I would post another one...

Sentimentalities of a Melancholic Agoraphobic
strain the world apart from the tears
gathered in my hands throughout the years
stretched beyond the grave to the sinner’s core
a shallow emptiness lives forever more
its scratching just beneath the surface
as cold and dark as death’s immortal kiss
caught in an orb is time grown old
the secrets of his life left untold

more just random words that flow in and out of my head...
On another note, Barca has had some solid victories recently with Messi's stunning 5 goal performance in their 7-1 victory of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and the recent victory in the domestic league over Santander... I love this team so much!!

Spring break is coming up soon, in about 4 days, and I will be heading to Germany to visit a friend and then up to Sweden to visit another one.

Have a good day everyone, time for class...

Saturday

Last night clubbing with new friends I met was a lot of fun, but I was so tired today after getting back at 5 am. Luckily, I get bursts of energy whenever soccer is involved, so the pick-up game today was awesome!!! I can't wait for next Saturday.

I've been going to the Nordic Film Festival here in Prague, and the movies I've seen have all been pretty good. I was so happy I got to see the Norwegian film King of Devil's Island, because from the description I got in the pamphlet, it sounded right up my alley. And it was phenomenal, I loved it. Stellan Skarsgard did a great job, as did the younger actors.

Hopefully on my next post, I'll have another poem or a bit of a short story, either or.

Time to go hang out with some friends!

BARCA

FC Barcelona, my favorite club is up 1-0 at the half in the first of two legs during this round of 16 action of the Champions League. Hoping they can pull through, as I expect them too ;), to win it in style. Love watching their style of play, its like poetry on the pitch or fresco delicately put together.

Caught up in the US version of Shameless, and I love it!! Cracks me up royally, and now starting the UK version of the show. Ian is my favorite character in the US version so far, but Macy does a great job at being despicable hahaha.

Here are some picks from my study abroad in Prague so far.

Clubbing... Kinda

I knew it was going to happen as soon as th eidea was presented. I was dressed for going to a club, I was in my school dance club's sweatpants, with a decent shirt, but based on previous experiences, I should have known that I wasn't going to get in because of them. My friends said ry anyway, so I did, and I was right. The only problem I can see with wearing sweatpants to a club is that they're not as fashionesque as, say, jeans or even designer clothes... but they're so damn comfy!

So I went to a jazz bar that played a couple Michael Jackson songs and a few other beats and enjoyed my time there with my friends. Kinda ironic that I don't really drink and didn't that night... and the toga party was a no go, couldn't find a sheet big enough since all i had was a fitted one for a twin size bed.

Soccer and Police

I never really liked getting stopped by the police for whatever reason... either speeding, public urination, getting hit by car, the latter being the only one which has happened thus far and yes, I did have to pay a $25 ticket after being hit, thank you Newport RI!!! but now I can add being stopped by the police walking to a soccer pitch to play a game of pick up... in Prague... the wonders of the world. I claimed Irish citizenship, because I am both an Irish and an American citizen, and went to ply anyway. The soccer was fantastic, and I hope we can do it again next saturday or even sooner.

There is the possibility of a toga party tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday. Sounds exciting and this would be my first toga party... i wouldn't be at all surprised if I was the only one to show up in one either haha.

Cheers!

Poetry

First post going into my blog is going to be a poem I wrote just recently. It obviously is not going to be as good as the great poets before like Plath, Hughes, or Shakespeare, but its a pastime I enjoy immensely. So, to say the least, I hope you like it! (slanted smile, 'cause I don't know the symbol for them hahaha)

Apart
memories take their toll
but they are all lost on me
feelings beyond control
I’ll be seven past forty
fractured I have been
put together again
smiling and unseen
my heart skips so cheaply

sit back and wonder about the spell I’m under
how afflicted am I with this calm disorder
captured by you, while empathy messed it up
I laid down for you and hit a sudden stop
you soiled both our hands
I’ll never understand.

could never believe you here
your story, covered and broken
I wanted to dry your tears
but you were never that open
cut your bullshitting
if it was all so easy
how many more twists
before its destroyed will you see

sit back and wonder about the spell I’m under
how afflicted am I with this calm disorder
captured by you, while empathy messed it up
I laid down for you and hit a sudden stop
you soiled both our hands
I’ll never understand.
